The Trust and Safety Engineering team’s mission is to protect our customers and business while promoting business value. We do this by providing fast, secure, and compliant authentication, identification, and fraud mitigation services. We are creating an international Trust and Safety team to meet increasing demands on consumer protection and growth from Affirm’s international expansion.
In leading this new team you’ll be core to Affirm’s growth by assisting in the launch of new countries and building platforms to accelerate our international presence. Our team is growing and looking for an Engineering Manager to help protect our customers abroad. Come join us!
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics, Legal and Compliance, and other engineering managers to develop a long term technical roadmap that meets stakeholder needs
- Lead a team of full stack engineers and prioritize recruiting and hiring talented engineers
- Hold a high technical bar with a bias towards longevity and simplicity via specification and architecture review
- Coach, develop, retain, and provide thoughtful feedback to team members
- Establish Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to set the engineering team’s direction and measure its success
- Build a strong engineering culture around innovation, accountability, empathy, and execution
What We Look For
- Experience: 2+ years as an Engineering Manager managing high performing engineering teams
- Technical: solid engineering fundamentals and real world experience building scalable distributed backend services
- Collaborative: track record of successful cross functional collaboration especially with product managers, business partners, and engineering counterparts
- Potential: ability to grow alongside a fast growing company and team
- Humble: you lead with the humility and self-awareness needed to navigate challenging situations
