The Finance and Strategy team is responsible for accelerating our business’s growth by identifying and implementing new opportunities and solutions as well as building the financial infrastructure and rigor to support the scale of the business. We partner with teams across the company to improve our business model’s profitability, scalability, and defensibility - delivering financial predictability, business accountability, and insights to optimize decisions and resourcing. About the Role
We are looking for an experienced claims specialist who will be a member of DoorDash’s Corporate Risk & Insurance function with the Finance & Strategy team. This individual will work closely with our insurance carrier partners and third-party claims administrators with a focus on auto insurance claims. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to help formulate a comprehensive strategy around claims handling at DoorDash. Prior insurance experience is required, ideally with an understanding of injury and property damage claims.

- Ensure timely and appropriate investigation, evaluation, and reporting of claims
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of assigned claims following established claims handling strategies
- Work directly with our carriers to investigate and expedite claims.
- Work cross-functionally with all support departments to investigate Auto, General Liability, and Occupational Accident claims.
- Actively participate and proactively drive improvements.
- Help develop and implement product and Help Center changes to ensure a positive user experience when accidents occur and promote self-service on our platform.
- Manage and oversee the DocuSign, Salesforce, Google/ Excel spreadsheets, and Drive Folders to ensure streamlined classification.
We’re excited about you because…
- 3+ years in insurance claims adjusting, Trust and Safety, Fraud, Risk Management, or a related role
- Prior experience working with or for a gig or sharing economy company
- Highly organized, analytical and comfortable in high volume claims environment
- Excellent listening, communication, verbal, and writing (documentation) skills
- Experience handling high priority escalations and working cross-functionally promptly to provide resolutions
- Positive outlook and optimism in the face of challenges and adverse situations
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to balance attention with swift execution
- Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and work on the day to day cases
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment, subject to rapid change and uncertainty
