Overview
We are looking for a flexible, dynamic Accounting Manager to manage accounting operations and processes across Carbon Direct Inc. A successful candidate combines solid analytical skills with a deep knowledge of accounting principles to prepare and analyze financial reports. You are detail-oriented, skilled at building processes across our fast-growing company, and able to collaborate effectively with team members across departments. You will report to our VP of Finance. Although a background in climate work is a plus but not a prerequisite, a passion for solving climate problems is required.
Responsibilities
- Own accounting activities and policies, including key areas such as revenue recognition
- Manage outsourced accounting team and any future accounting hires
- Serve as the main point of contact for financial audits and tax returns
- Collaborate closely with the VP of Finance on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management
- Run monthly and quarterly financial close processes
- Manage A/R, A/P, payroll accounting, and intercompany accounting
- Refine accounting infrastructure and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Bill.com, Rippling, Carta, HubSpot) for a growing organization
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and infrastructure
Qualifications
- Experience in an accounting, auditing, or finance role, including management and supervisory experience. Experience working for a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organization is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification preferred, with knowledge of GAAP and key areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and software capitalization essential. Prior experience supporting third-party audits is preferred.
- Proven analytical abilities, well-developed communication and organizational skills, and keen attention to detail are vital.
Salary
$112,000-$137,000
